Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - The Ultimate Guide to Completing Anayama the Peddler's Sidequest

Anayama the Peddler is one of the first characters players will meet in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. He offers a side quest, but it's not particularly obvious how to complete it. This guide provides an overview of what you need to do and what rewards you can get for helping him out. 

Step 1: Give Anayama Sen 

Players must give Anayama 10 and then 20 sen to begin his side quest. This unlocks the next step in his quest line and gives players access to more valuable items from his shop. 

Step 2: Find Out What Ashina Samurai Need 

Anayama needs Wolf’s help with some market research for him – he wants Wolf to find out what Genichiro and the Ashina Clan’s samurai need as they battle the Interior Ministry. To find out, Wolf needs to eavesdrop on two samurai talking in Ashina Castle near Old Grave Sculptor Idol – they'll be discussing how poorly the war is going, with one saying they need salt for wounds and preserving corpses. Bringing this information back will advance Anayama's questline; rest at a Sculptor’s Idol afterwards to initiate the next part of his quest.

Step 3: Send Kotaro To Help Anayama

The second part of Anayama’s sidequest sees him asking Wolf for an assistant – Kotaro is found weeping near Senpou Temple area, so send him over if you wish (it unlocks some upgrade materials in his shop alongside Ako’s Sugar). Regardless of whether players send Kotaro or not, however, once Interior Ministry begins siege on Ashina Castle, then both Anamaya's availability as merchant and his quests end here - unless Kotaro was sent over, which allows player purchase Promissory Note that gives 10% discount when buying from all merchants!

For completing this side-quest, players are rewarded with a range of items, including Ako’s Sugar, upgrade materials such as Ceramic Shards and Mortal Blade Fragments which can be used later on in game progression as well as Promissory Note that provides 10% discount when buying from any merchants within game world!
